White Mountain National Forest Parking Fees

Beginning on May 1, 1997, hikers and visitors to parking areas in the White Mountain National Forest noticed the presence of white signs announcing the implementation of the forest service's recreation fee pilot project.  Effective May 24, 1997,  people who leave their cars in the parking lots within the forest are required to display a sticker on their vehicle.

Yearly passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase.  The cost of a sticker is $20 from date of purchase for one car, $5 for an additional sticker for a second car in the same household (Family sticker).  A seven (7) consecutive day pass is available for $5. Many trailhead parking locations allow purchase of a $3.00 on-site one day pass.

Stickers may be purchased at a variety of places in New Hampshire or can be obtained by mail by sending a check made out to "USDA Forest Service" and completing this form (in PDF format - must have Adobe Acrobat reader)
