Scholarship Policy

In an effort to encourage members of our chapter to participate in training events that would improve their skills as leaders, the following policy is proposed:

A member who is currently an approved leader for the chapter may apply for a scholarship for an event and receive that scholarship in the form of partial reimbursement for the cost of the event after the event has taken place.

A member who is not currently a leader, but who is interested in becoming a leader and has shown an interest in starting, or has already started, the training required to become a leader may apply for a scholarship for an event. The application will be kept on file by the chapter chair. When that member has completed the leadership requirements and has been approved by the committee chair as a leader, the scholarship will be approved by the executive committee and granted in the form of partial reimbursement for the cost of the event after the event has taken place.

A member who is not an activity leader but who contributes significantly to the chapter in other ways may also apply for a scholarship. These applications will be reviewed by the executive board on a case by case basis and granted if approved. These will also be given as partial reimbursement for the cost of the event after the event has taken place.

The amounts of the scholarships will be determined by the Executive Board, based on the financial situation of the chapter. Members may, however, request a specific amount which may or may not be approved.

The scholarship applications will be submitted to and held by the chapter chair.
