Spring Gathering 2008
The AMC Spring Gathering, April 18-20th in Sandwich, MA was a great success, with a turn-out greater than expected and beautiful weather. Some photos have been posted on the site, courtesy of Wayne Anderson. Look for a great article about the event soon both online and in the up-coming 'Breeze'.
Taunton River Watershed Alliance
The Taunton River Watershed Alliance is a citizen-based group committed to protect, preserve and restore our local water resources. A variety of up-coming educational and recreational events can be found on the TRWA website. These events include a 70 mile\3 day canoe\kayak trek along the “Wampanoag Canoe Passage” from Scituate to Dighton Rock State Park, a TRWA overnight canoe trip, and an Archeological canoe trip.
The TRWA is also involved in shaping state policy on environmental issues as well as providing technical assistance to agencies and groups committed to environmental protection. For more information, please visit the webiste or call 508-828-1101.
Chapter Trails Challenge
The AMC is proud to present the Chapter Trails Challenge. The Chapter Trails Challenge has been set up to encourage AMC members to adopt new trail segments outside of those currently maintained by the club.
Blue Hills Adopt-A-Trail
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Friends of Blue Hills and AMC-SE Mass Chapter are looking for leaders and adopters to become involved in the Adopt-A-Trail Program at Blue Hills Reservation in Canton, Ma.
