Cape Hiking

The Cape Hike Committee offers hikes on Cape Cod varying from woods walks with moderate hills to pristine sandy beaches. These hikes provide a unique way to experience the beauty and nature of Cape Cod. All hikes are lead by experienced AMC leaders.

Typically hikes are held from September to May on the following days, however the schedule/times may vary.
Thursday morning - 10:00 approximately two hours, meeting at 9:45
Sunday afternoon - 1:00 approximately two hours, meeting at 12:45
Saturday - occasional hikes, for meeting times and duration see schedule.

Most hikes are “show 'n go”. If registration is required one must contact the leader in advance of the hike. General policy is no dogs but left to discretion of leader - must inquire before consideration.

Occasionally a hike will have a particular focus or point of interest - picnic, potluck, turtle search, whale viewing, rare vegetation, geological, historical interest or insight into the lives of Cape Cod ancestors. Several “full moon” hikes are offered during the summer months at dusk usually the night before the full moon (see schedule for time and place).

Hikes will leave promptly as scheduled. Be on time! Come equipped with water, sturdy, comfortable footwear, and adequate clothing for changes in the weather. Inspection for ticks after each hike is important. Rain, snow/icy conditions generally cancel a hike. If in doubt call the leader.

Your safety and that of all hikers is of prime importance. Be aware that an individual's actions and physical limitations could affect all participants. Address questions or concerns about an upcoming hike to the leader.

Come, exercise, and enjoy the hikes on Cape Cod!
